Life Skills For Youth Program
The challenges faced due to poverty in our community has led us to educate the youth on need of life skills. These are the skills they need to use when dealing effectively with the challenges in everyday life, whether at school, at work or in their personal lives.
Its importance is to enable the youth to cope with the increasing pace and change of modern life. Youth need new life skills such as the ability to deal with stress, frustration and peer pressure.
St. Michael Community Centre provides skill enhancing programs for the youth of our community such as programs that help children and teenagers to be more effective in meeting challenges in life, and preparing them for their future.
Life Skillls Education covers important areas like :-

- Understanding their sexuality
- Peer pressure
- Drugs & Alcohol Abuse abstinence
- Developing healthy relationships
- Leadership skills
- Dealing with negative thoughts & emotions
- Addictions
- Stress
- Anger and Time Management [ATM]
- Career guidance after their ‘O’ Level
At St. Michael Community Centre we organize training sessions with schools within the County.
