ST. MICHAEL COMMUNITY CENTRE is a Community Based Organization [CBO] registered in 2017 as a non-profit voluntary organization under The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Development, Murang’a, Kenya REGISTRATION No : GSS/MUR/CBO/94. Our area of operation is Murang’a County, Central Province in Kenya.
The organization’s core objective is creating outreach programs to support orphans and vulnerable children [OVC]. We give specific attention to children orphaned by HIV/AIDS and handicapped children. MORE ABOUT US

Education can directly influence risk perception, enhance skills, improve knowledge and indirectly reduce poverty. Investment in empowering children and enhancing their capacity through education can have a positive result in reducing poverty and strengthening adaptive capacity to challenges encountered in future. At St. Michael we support orphans and vulnerable children attain their quest for a good. As a result their livelihoods and those of their families and community is greatly improved.
Feeding children nutritious food opens doors to provide them with good health, education and a sense of hope.
To advocate for the rights of the children in Murang’a through strengthening the capacity of the community, including children to understand and lobby for these rights. Education for children out of school through the satellite schools.Provide basic needs such as food, water, sanitary pads for girls, uniforms,etc
To encourage and support community based environment friendly projects that generate income and create jobs for the local Youth population. Build the capacity of the community to manage their affairs and income generating projects effectively and transparently.
We encourage women around Murang’a to realize their value and reach their potential through job training and education. As a result, many will own a business and feed and care for their own children. This will include kiondo making, candle manufacture, table banking etc
To assist in health care for underserved individuals in the community and promote awareness on affordable healthy living; To educate and sensitize Murang’a community on endemic diseases including HIV and AIDS, malaria,tuberculosis, cancer, asthma and diabetes and provide support for the affected.
Support community based initiatives to improve access to clean water.
To offer basic education and vocational skills to orphaned and very vulnerable children in Murang’a community and those rehabilitated from the streets. This can also include setting up training programs for secondary school leavers like hair and beauty training, mobile and computer repair training etc
